Reset Glitch

Much like the JTAG hack from the past, the Reset Glitch is a new way to run unsigned code on your Xbox 360 console, be it a fat or slim console! This means homebrew applications and games can be run from any internal or external storage device. Freeboot (or ggbuild) is still the preferred file system as it is kept well up to date with current official dashboard releases.

Unlike the JTAG hack which only required a few diodes, resistors and wires, the Reset Glitch depends on a CPLD to send pulses to the CPU at predetermined time intervals to reset it. This means that more expensive hardware needs to be placed into the console, wired up to the board and left in place. If you consider the endless possibilities though you'll find that it's an investment worth making, especially if you're interested in homebrew and emulators.

The Reset Glitch is available for slim consoles and all fat consoles except for Xenon (first gen. fat console) The installation comes in two different packages, the first being the installation with CPLD only and the second being the installation with CPLD and built-in USB SPI for reading and writing to the system nand. For fat consoles, no plastic covers are cut and no wires/plugs are visible. Slim consoles are still being explored for hidden USB access.
